Europe’s landscapes, the vibrant cultures of North and South America, the quiet beauty of the Himalayas — somewhere between all of it, I stopped seeing myself as a tourist. I started seeing the world as somewhere I actually understood.

Then I had five kids, and somehow that’s when I learned the real lesson: no two trips are ever, ever the same. What works for one family, one honeymoon, one solo escape — doesn’t work for the next. So I stopped trying to force a formula and started actually listening. Family vacations, romantic getaways, solo trips, corporate travel — I build every single one around you. Before any of this, I spent 15 years in the corporate world. Then I became a Registered Nurse in the NHS — a job that teaches you very fast that the small details are the ones that matter most. That discipline never left me. It just found a new job to do.

Here’s the bummer: chronic illness eventually caught up with the pace I was keeping. Long shifts stopped being sustainable — so I adjusted. Again. It’s all good, though. Because it meant finally embracing what I’d always loved. Not just visiting places, but experiencing cultures and coming home with stories actually worth telling.
